Orange Avenue is the village’s main shopping corridor. The Ferry Landing on First Street has bayfront businesses and a ferry connection to San Diego. Glorietta Bay is a different waterfront, southeast of the village. Silver Strand extends south toward Coronado Cays and state beach areas. Hotel del Coronado opens
Hotel del Coronado opened in 1888, following construction that began the previous year. The hotel remains a prominent landmark along the oceanfront.
